About Heidi Pokras, AMFT
I’m Heidi Pokras, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), passionate about supporting adults in healing from complex trauma and reconnecting with their authentic selves. My trauma-focused approach draws from attachment theory, somatic parts work, EMDR, and polyvagal theory. I support individuals navigating the effects of early attachment injuries, childhood emotional neglect, patterns of chronic self-abandonment, and the deep exhaustion that often accompanies burnout.
I bring a warm, collaborative presence and work especially well with neurodivergent adults and creative individuals. With curiosity and care, we examine how early survival strategies that once kept you safe may now be holding you back. I integrate expressive arts, mindfulness, and nervous system education to support the process of unlearning these protective patterns and cultivating new pathways rooted in emotional safety, clarity, and self-trust.
Whether you’re working through trauma, recovering from burnout, or seeking a deeper connection with yourself, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for processing, growth, and healing.
