About Nancy Corcoran

Nancy’s journey with yoga began at 15, when she quickly fell in love with the poses and the transformative effects of regular practice. Her dedication led her to a teacher training program—initially just to deepen her own experience. In 1991, Nancy became an accidental yoga teacher and has passionately taught ever since.

Over the past 30 years, Nancy has cultivated a diverse and inclusive teaching practice. She spent eight years as the Executive Director of the largest yoga school in Los Angeles and volunteered extensively at a local battered women’s shelter. In 1998, she founded Yoga for Every Body in Sherman Oaks, creating a welcoming space for individuals of all backgrounds and abilities.

Nancy specializes in working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use. Her expertise also extends to those recovering from spinal cord injuries, sports injuries, and chronic pain, as well as professional athletes and high-profile individuals managing high-stress careers.

Understanding Trauma Through Somatic Healing

The way we carry ourselves and the patterns in our movements reveal the stories of our personal history. Trauma often leaves an imprint on the body, manifesting as tension, discomfort, and dysregulation. Through trauma-informed movement practices, Nancy helps clients release stored trauma, bringing it from the body into conscious awareness. This process creates a powerful opportunity for self-exploration, clarity, and healing.

By incorporating body movement and yoga into EMDR intensives, Nancy supports clients in building a stronger connection to their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Her compassionate, intuitive approach helps individuals move through deep-seated patterns, fostering a greater sense of calm, resilience, and self-understanding.

Nancy believes that everybody—regardless of age, experience, or history—can benefit from the grounding, restorative, and empowering practice of yoga.
